New Clothing Line in The Works
August 13, 2008. Los Angeles, CA-Travis by Travi$ clothing is putting the initial wheels in motion for a full roll out of rack after rack of hip pop inspired threads created by Travi$ especially for the discerning fashion hipsters, and L.A. lifestyle types in Cali and around the world. When asked about the Gangster Line and its creation, inspiration Travi$ had this to say,
"I am a fanatic when it comes to Warhol and his whole concept of pop art being the basis in today's world, and I love that pallet he used and I steal like all guys do, but the Gangsters like Lucky and Bonnie and Clyde, etc, they were heroes, celebrities etc, I just want to blend it all and show the roots of this country, and the roots of art, I am just so excited about Art and History, and the role I can play in both, plus the mug shot etc are really rad..."
This first line is playing off the success of his original "one off" KUSTOM KICKS, premier this spring is the Gangster Line. A series of designs inspired by the true gangsters of the United States, Lucky, Bonnie, Clyde, Baby Face, Dillinger, and of course Al Capone. All the images and graphics have a vibrant pallet, and are going to set the trend this spring and summer in L.A. and beyond. Fashion experts have been quick to follow cues from the underground in the past, just look at the attempts by NIKE with its I.D. system to customize, so they have pointed to his look as a new way for the fashion trend to bend. So, look for the Gangster line in the fall and until then you guys out there will have to be satisfied with just the basic graphics and a couple of logos. We can't wait till a product is available.

Kustom Kicks Reminder
No one does this better than paintingsbytravis.com artist, Travi$ himself. The custom “one off” original himself Travi$. His latest victory…KUSTOM KICKS. Some say the custom shoe has been conquered… and now just wait till you see what he has up his sleeve now that KUSTOM KICKS is a division of paintingsbytravis.com. When asked about the work he has done on shoes Travi$ had this to say,
"I love shoes! I own way too many, in fact I own several colors of many styles, especially Nike, Adidas, Puma, and Vans, I have always wanted the hip new sneakers. I have been drawing and painting on them for years, from my first pair of Vans, to my Nikes, to some Doc Martens that I bought before my first trip to the UK, I love to customize my clothing, I have even done small customs to my car, I guess that's the next step custom badges for your car, or pins etc for your shoes, and then maybe I can convince someone to do a car shoe..."
When asked about exactly what the car shoe would mean, and what he did to his car Travi$ replied,
"...ha, the car shoe, that is a concept I have been kicking around for years, shoes that look like cars, or have the badges etc from major auto line, I am already in the process of putting that one together, with Porsche's successes and now with the Ferrari shoe out there, people can grasp the concept, but my designs will blow you "car nuts" away, I own restored vehicles, and I love cars, always have, and with the shoe it just felt natural, all those design aspects ..." "And the custom Cadillac I have is a '03 deVille, I just did badges for it, on the sides it has bullets, and on the back a c-note, I just thought it looked like a bullet, the car is bronzemist, ha..." ...he said in a low-rider put-on voice.
Travis is anticipating a huge demand for the "one off's" once his shoes with all the major lines begin to premier, but he cautions that fashion is a tricky business, and that he just wants to show people how much fun it is to have fun with fashion, and relay his passion for crating art to his customers. He also reminds everyone that Art is forever. As far as Passion goes, time has already proven that Travi$ is definitely an accomplished artist, so if that is any indication of his Passion & this new venture into footwear is headed down the right path, one that for the designer is paved in gold, kinda like that c-note on the back of his Custom Caddie.

Paintingsbytravis.com Website Launched
August 11, 2008. Los Angeles, CA- For everyone the wait is finally over, Paintingsbytravis.com has finally launched. The anticipation has been building for weeks and most of the art and fashion insiders all believed that the hype was just that, however, the reality is actually better than the concept. So many thought it was not possible to combine art, fashion, and the energy of Los Angeles, however the result is passionate clothing coupled with pop images, and the latest trends offset by realistic portrayals of the surrealistic atmosphere of a “modern day Rome” in a city that turns its lights out at 3 am. This paradox is exactly what makes L.A. so L.A. and Travis gets that. This website has been described by some as the first step to a new way to perceive Art and Clothing as the same entity, and recognize the ability of the average fashion consumer to purchase an original piece of art that can become highly collectable and invest in Art, and in the Artist himself. Paintingsbytravis.com owner, Travis Moore Said, when asked about this first step, and that concept,
“Yeah…Its official, the site is up and running. Paintingsbytravis.com has launched and now offers a variety of products ranging from original acrylics to custom designer kicks. We are still putting in new features and building a database of visitors, customers, admirers and gawkers, so please sign in send us a message, place an order and become an art collector, then tell your friends and family about the designer, me(TRAVI$), and about my site paintingsbytravis.com. This site is the first of its kind, an “all in one” art+clothing+lifestyle= website, offering the best in “one- off” original gear that you won’t find in stores, or on other sites or in modern museums ….yet, I can do commission work on your shoes, clothing, bags, etc, and of course on Canvas, and I can do just about anything , just check out the site, and tell us what you think, send me an email leave a comment read the blog, and maybe for someone’s birthday get them a painting, they will love you…..”
Where else can someone buy art and love and not be in Amsterdam … on this website. The artist is also in talks to do custom shoes with major lines along with Rock n’ Roll performers, so can a full clothing line be too far off over the horizon? The designer mentioned that he also does freelance designs for sites, all types of businesses, and for other performers. When pressed about his future Travis had this to say,
” I just love making art, I want to be relevant, both as an Artist, but as a designer, and a businessman, so if I could combine all three, I guess that really says it all….so yeah I would love that the Gangster Line is the first in a series of lines under my Travis by Travi$ line, I am also making “one-off’s”(SHOES), so the concept for a shoe is there, I just am passionate about sharing art, and making art and bringing people together because I think they will sound good or look good or feel good together, like how D.J. AM cuts up tracks, or Koonz combines images, I want to do that and do it by putting Rock n’ Roll and Art together with fashion, hell Rock n’ Roller’s date models don’t they,… I guess before this that was as close as it’s gotten..,”
When asked about what role the Rockers would play, he said pulling another drag on another of the hundreds of cigarettes that fill the ashtray outside in the artist’s patio, surrounded by hibiscuses and fountains, and the reverberation of The Ramones blaring from the CD player,
”I want them to play a role in the designs, Hell I paint them… I want them to be part of the whole deal too so yeah that’s part of it, plus I get to meet them they really get turned on by the way the painting and the shoes turn out, hell I had a guy tell me the other day that it was the best painting he had seen of himself, and I know this dude has been given so many thing over the years, so when he says that it was amazing and I have another guy so has no emotion real low key , and he say that it looks way cool, then I know that I made them happy, and I grew up digging these guys sounds, and Now they dig my artwork, it blows me away, and I just want to share that awesome feeling with everyone.”
This is just the first step for Travis as he expands his artwork and the concept of an ART+CLOTHING+LIFESTYLE=WEBSITE. The future looks bright for this up and coming Artist, let’s hope that the rest of the ride happens quickly and everyone enjoys it, especially the patrons. Welcome to paintingsbytravis.com.
